Prenatal massage addresses the physical discomfort and pain a woman experiences during pregnancy. It helps ease tension throughout the body, working through pain in common areas such as the low back and hips.
Pregnancy massage is also beneficial for the mind. It decreases stress hormones like cortisol in the expecting mother, putting her at ease and in a more relaxed mood. It helps to decrease high blood pressure, but in this case should be closely monitored by a doctor.
Earth Breath Yoga uses side-lying for prenatal massage. We use a long pillow to place between the legs support, and a soft pillow under the head for added comfort. We'll customize the session based on your individual needs and health history, using hot towels and warm stones where possible to ease your tight muslces and extra loose ligaments. Allow your body and mind to melt into the heated table, and soak in the 100% therapeutic grade essential oils.
After your pregnancy massage, we'll allow you extra time to slowly get off the table, and greet you with a refreshing glass of cold water at the door. Before you leave, we'll give you at-home stretches to help your growing body between sessions.
